America’s Got Talent

America’s Got Talent is a TV-show on NBC channel and a part of the franchise «Got Talent». It is a talent show, where the singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and other talents of all ages competing for the top prize of $1,000,000. The premiere took place on June 21, 2006. With the third season, the prize includes a $1,000,000 payable in a financial annuity for 40 years (or the present value of the payment in cash), as well as participation in the show Las Vegas Strip as the host. Among the important features was that talented amateurs or unknown performers could reach the audience voting.

The format of the show is popular, and it was often reworked for television in the United States and the United Kingdom. This project was founded by Simon Cowell, and originally, in 2005, he had to run the British show Paul O’Grady’s Got Talent, but it was postponed due to a sharp split of O’Grady with broadcaster ITV (later was launched the project Britain’s Got Talent). Thus, the American version became the first full version of the franchise. Despite the involvement of Simon Cowell in the production of the show, his contract with «Fox» in the show American Idol prevented him to participate in the show as a judge. However, in 2011 after retiring from the American Idol, Cowell began to produce version of The X Factor on Channel «Fox» and was a member of the jury.

A new episode will be aired on July 28.
