Skoda Snowman – mass production postponed to 2016

Car line of the Czech concern Skoda expects addition. More specifically, the company aims to conquer the “off-road” market segment. Before that there was only a compact Skoda Yeti, but now it seems, it will have the elder brother.

Earlier it was planned that the series will be added by Skoda Snowman later this year, but later officials of the Czech automaker announced the postponement of the event by 2016. As the name implies, it is expected that the car will be a real SUV that can handle any terrain, but not another urban “SUV”. First photos of Snowman are very eloquent: we face a real muscular conqueror of unpaved roads. Meanwhile, the car shares its platform with the VW Tiguan. This means that Snowman also will be supplied with a forward drive.

The engine range was worked out by Czechs to the smallest detail, because the choice is given as much as of 5 units (three petrol and two diesel).

The estimated cost is about 24 000 Euros, which is quite impressive. “Snowman” promises to be one of the main competitors for the undisputed king of the segment: Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento. Will loud freshman displace old-timers?
